We're talking about Japanese beetles. And like many in the Tennessee Valley are finding on the double, they can turn into a skeleton of a plant overnight.

When we were assigned the alibi to find Japanese beetles in Madison County we thought we would have a difficult manners. We stopped by a cotton field and within seconds found what we wanted.

Plant Profile: August 1, 2010

We have had the field of unwell this week from lofty fieriness and humidity to the coldest day on record for August first. Vehement showers gave the plants a high-mindedness drink or perhaps drowning is a more careful designation because the downpours were followed by a two of days of clouds and unconcerned temperatures so nothing dried out. Spread rot has been a disturbed for some of the plants including phlox, begonias, petunias and some of the vinca. The cloudy days have not deterred the bees and the vegetable garden is humming and producing a surprising slues of squash and tomatoes.
