Whats the Law on overhanging Neighbour trees, evergreen.?

 I have a whole side of my garden where my neighbors trees are at least five feet above the fence in my garden.
What is the legal procedure for obtaining trimed, they are also ruining all my plants here.

 If you live in the United Kingdom, then you have the right to cut overhanging trees so yearn cuttings you give to your neighbor, however, I suggest that you talk to them first and let them know of your intentions, are they aware that the trees are causing you to be angry?
